尼日利亚中国总商会于2009年11月得到中国商务部批示，报备成功同意成立，2010年2月在尼日利亚注册，2011年7月召开第一次会员大会宣布成立。是一家在尼日利亚注册且在中国商务部备案的商会组织，同时也是境外中资企业商协会联席会议副主席单位。尼日利亚中国总商会会员囊括所有在尼大型中资企业，涉及油气、基建、制造业、通讯、农业、矿业，互联网等多个领域；设有油气，工程承包，制造业，建材，汽车，电力，农业，等多个行业分会；会员单位160多家，联系会员单位一千余家。有专职工作人员13人；总部设在首都城市阿布贾机场路总商会大楼；同时设有卡诺办事处，拉各斯办事处，广州办事处。
尼日利亚中国总商会致力于服务在尼中资企业，推进两国经贸往来，促进两国各领域交流，自成立以来得到了两国政府的高度支持。尼日利亚中国总商会通过论坛、展会、期刊、文体活动等形式大力宣扬中国产品，中国文化，是中尼经贸合作的纽带，是中尼商业合作的桥梁。

China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria (CGCC) was approved by the China Ministry of Commerce in November 2009, and was registered in Nigeria in February 2010. The first general meeting was held in July 2011. CGCC not only registers under China Ministry of Commerce, but also is a vice-president level unit under Chinese Overseas Enterprises Chamber of Commerce and Associations Conference Forum.  
CGCC comprises of all large Chinese enterprises in Nigeria, with a range of industries including Oil and Gas, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Communications, Agriculture, Mining, and ICT; the relevant industrial branches have also been established; It has more than 160 membership, and more than 1,000 associating member units. The headquarter locates in Abuja and there are also Kano Office, Lagos Office, and Guangzhou Office in China.
Since its establishment, the China General Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria has received tremendous support from both Chinese and Nigerian government, providing services for Chinese enterprises in Nigeria, promoting economic and trade exchange between the two countries, and promoting exchanges between the two countries in various fields. CGCC also serves to promote Chinese product and culture through various exhibitions, journal publication, cultural and sports activities, CGCC is aim to serve as the tie between China and Nigeria economic and trade cooperation and also as a bridge for cooperation between Chinese and Nigerian enterprises.
